Well That One Certainly Knocked Me on My Ass

Things are starting to return to normal around here. The cherubs are all back in school, I’m working regularly, we are riding bikes to school again and yoga’s back on tonight. Next week I will take myself to the movies, (hopefully something decent will come out.) I’m anxious to get back to some long put...

    Hugs. Emailing you.

Now For the Whens?

When: is Jeff’s hand going to stop hurting and heal? are hurricanes going to stop blowing through here? am I gonna get licensed? life gonna return to normal? gas prices gonna go down? am I gonna get a boob job? will we be able to ride bikes to school again? are the cherubs gonna clean...

    WHEN…are you coming to Atlanta?
    sigh, i miss you.

Whys?

Why: are boys so damn violent? is there NEVER enough Diet Dr. Pepper? does the power and therefore the DVR have to be out on the one day “my shows” are on? is this damn city still under curfew? does it take Jeff over an hour to get home from work now? do the cherubs...

When you gotta whine, you gotta whine. I feel your pain.

At least your cherubs go back to school Thursday. Son is still scheduled for Monday, and that’s only if they restore power to the school in time. His school is still in an “orange box.” *sigh*

If we were playing poker with poignant life questions, I would say “I see your why questions and raise you one more: why can’t we always be with the people we love?”

Sorry things are so hard for you back home. Hugs.

There is such a thing as justified whining and this is certainly it.

And if you can’t whine on your own blog, where the hell CAN you do it? Hope it lightens up soon.

Gustav Aftermath

I will update, but for now all I can say is that it was bad, really bad, so bad that over half Baton Rouge is still without power. Until then: I am up and running and watching Ike closely. We won’t even get into work.

I once read an interview with Monica Lewinsky (of all people) in which she said that she thought denial was an underrated coping strategy and that it worked really, really well right up until it didn’t. Diet Dr. Pepper always works–at least a little. 😉
