The Last Hoorah

Today is the cherubs’ last day of school. Despite the fact that they are doing absolutely nothing today, I sent them. I sent them because I needed today. So how am I celebrating my last few hours of freedom you might ask? Organizing, watching HGTV and doing Jacob’s laundry. In his defense, I never do...

Why can’t school go YEAR ROUND?

My hydrangea is blooming this year, too!! I can’t tell you how excited I am about that. Especially since I thought it was dead for the last two years. I didn’t think that it would do well in a pot, but now that I see yours, maybe I’ll try to re-plant it. I don’t know, maybe I shouldn’t mess with it. I obviously have a black thumb!!

    Mmmmmm. Hydrangeas.

Eight is Great

Jax, Happy happy birthday. Today was a really big day for you, and everyone turned out in droves to help celebrate. In fact, I have spent half a utility bill on cakes and cake like confections, because everyone and their brother wanted to celebrate this momentous occasion with you. That, and they wanted cake. In...

How Not to Make Cup Cakes: A Tutorial

Apparently eight is French for two birthdays. Or Mormon, but what ever. In my struggle to pull this whole thing off, I had an epiphany this morning. I, (Erika Lynn Rebstock) will make cupcakes for Jack’s friend birthday tonight, since I have already ordered and spent $30 on his baptism/family birthday party cake. Brilliant right?...

the chocolate legs to the bugs are ment to be made of chocolate wafers piped on wax paper and then cooled it then peals of and can be placed on the cupcake, i have to book and this makes it allot easier and the result is much cleaner : )

No, I read that. Melting chocolate wafers and then piping that seemed much more difficult to me, someone with no cake decorating skills. Either way the results would have been sloppy, at least this way was half the work.

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Or Not

My mom just showed up out of the blue and took the cherubs to her house to swim. Which is good because I’m currently knee deep in planning a certain male cherub a birthday party for Friday night and a baptism for Sunday. Yeah, I’m a little behind on things. In my defense, I haven’t...

I Know Pretty People

*I was going to post these tomorrow, so as not to double post, but I just can’t wait. We make this look good.* Saturday, we headed out to the State Capitol for a family photo shoot. Our photographer took some fantastic pictures. Becky treated me to a sneak preview, and now you get to see...

You found her when she did that post and had pictures taken that fast? Or you found her by randomly clicking on Lexi’s blog list? Either way…great pictures. As I stated on facebook, I am jealous.

  • ErikaMay 12, 2009 - 3:22 pm

No, Lexi has button for her on her blog. I was checking out several photogs in the area. I checked out her work, we emailed back and forth, then set up the shoot. We’ve been arranging this since March, before the ski trip. It just took me that long to get it together. (Me not her.)

Yeah, I’ll take credit for them. All of them.
