I joined Neil in the Great Interview Experiment over at Citizen of the Month. I got to interview Gunfighter. Just so you know, we partied like it was 1999 through this interview. (Shhh GF, don’t tell them other wise they won’t know!)
Okay Mr. Gunfighter, it appears it’s on . . .
1)You mention you’re a father, how many children do you have and how old are they?
I have two children, both girls. My oldest is 18 and is a Freshman at an out-of-state college. My youngest is nine (this is my second marriage) She is in the third grade.
2)What’s the best thing about being a father?
Being one of the most important people that will shape the lives of the two dynamic, smart, athletic, vivacious, strong women that my daughters will become… and being the example of the sort of man that they should marry, when the time comes.
3)Have you ever partied like it’s 1999? If so, tell us about it.
Yes, I have… I think it was about 1985, though… I partied REALLY hard that year. I was still in the service, and spent most of that year in Germany, chasing women and partying like there would be a total moratorium on fun at any minute.
4)How long have you been blogging?
In two months (April) it will have been two years.
5)Why do you blog?
Because I am enough of a narcissist that I think anyone would care about anything I have to say? Naaah, that’s not it. I blog for a variety of reasons. Mainly because I have a lot to say… even when I’m not talking about anything serious. I also enjoy the social aspect of blogging… it’s big fun. I have done happy hour and afternoon lunch meets with quite a few of my blogging pals that live in my area. Blogging is my Seussian Yop!
6)What’s the one quality that defines you as a person?
I’m a helper. It’s my calling.
7)What do you want to be remembered for?
Doing something meaningful, and hopefully helpful to someone.
8)What’s your greatest accomplishment to date?
Counseling a young subordinate… about 10 years ago. He was going through some tough times with his ex-wife, concerning their small child. He was allowing his problems to interfere with his work to the point of his nearly losing his career. I helped him work it out. That young fellow is a Sergeant (soon to be a Lieutenant) in the Metropolitan Police of the District of Columbia. I’m very proud of him.
9)What’s your greatest failure or thing not yet accomplished?
I haven’t published a book yet… nor have I attained a college degree. Perhaps after I retire.
10)If you were food, what food would you be?
A pint of Cherry Garcia Ice Cream
bonus: Fire arms eh? What’s your favorite gun?
My favorite pistol is the GLock 23. It is easily concealed, but large enough to be useful in a full-on gunfight. My favorite rifle is the venerable M-16… NOT the M-4… the M-16.
LOVED it. Your interview is so fun. While I would have picked Hagan Daz Chocolate Peanut Butter for the food, I couldn’t agree more on the Glock and the M-16.
(I heart guns. Even if I am total girly girl, I heart them. Just ask Ray. I made her go with me.)
