Do Toddlers Come with Schedule Sensors?

I had plans today. Really, I have tons to do. But alas my children have conspired against me again!

Not the least on my schedule today, (let me see how I can put this delicately), is handling a bit of a pest problem. So I desperately need to clear out of the house so it can be bombed. If I’m going to live here another day: THIS HAS TO HAPPEN. But my 4 year old has decided he is too tired to go to PreSchool today. (Now let me preface all this by saying, that he has been fighting a cold lately, or he NEVER could have got away with these antics!) There is something so surreal about a 4 year old flopping on your bed exclaiming that he simply can’t go to school today because it’s just to long, and he needs his rest. Pre-School lasts until noon so you can see his dilemma, right?

How do these kids always know when I have stuff to do? Is there some kind of radar I don’t know about? I am aware of the built in altimeter that all babies come equipped with, but schedule sensors in toddlers? Is this normal, or my kids just special? And can we have these sensors removed? These are the questions that will haunt me tonight, as I lie in bed with my mile long task list that must be forwarded to tomorrow. (But not the bombing, that WILL happen today, thus sayth the lord, god, mommy.)
